What is Teen Second Life?

How is it different from regular Second Life?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

According to Wikipedia, “Second Life (SL) is a virtual world developed by Linden Lab launched on June 23, 2003, and is accessible on the Internet. A free client program called the Viewer enables its users, called Residents, to interact with each other through avatars.1 Residents can explore, meet other residents, socialize, participate in individual and group activities, and create and trade virtual property and services with one another, or travel throughout the world (which residents refer to as "the grid"). Second Life is for people aged 18 and over, while Teen Second Life is for people aged 13 to 17.”

Teen Second Life differs primarily due to it only encouraging membership to those ages thirteen through seventeen. Adults are strongly discouraged from joining Teen Second Life; however they may be allowed to join for a limited period only after a rigorous review process that includes a criminal background check. Teen Second Life has strict limitations on nudity, violence and profanity. Once a teenager reaches age eighteen they will be moved over to the original Second Life platform. Any property accumulated while in Teen Second Life will be carried over along the teen’s other personal information. Teen Second Life offers a more secure environment as well as educational programs that are not offered in Second Life. Teens can’t participate in the virtual world due to the possibility of them being exposed to adult content that may be found in Second Life virtual world.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.
