What is strategic instruction? What are some features/examples of this teaching method?

In basic terms, the Strategic Instruction Model (SIM) tries to take into account the different learning strategies that students use and to revise the curriculum materials to allow teachers to focus on unique ways of reaching at-risk students.

Thank you for the links! I had a course on the strategies from the Univ of Kansas, so I am familiar with that but I had not checked out the Florida overview...I am doing some research for a grad paper so every little bit helps! I appreciate your input!
