Since I realize that it is all very time-consuming (the research, writing, promoting, reading and chatting in different forums to learn what is going on in the business, etc.) and that we writers are not paid what we are worth, I would especially like to research and write QUICKER in order to make a better "rate of pay" for all my constant daily efforts.
Does anyone have any advice for me? I would love to hear advice from writers who have done this for years and have learned how to succeed.
Thanks!!

M$I am a person who wants to be a master of everything I do from cooking to computers (or just about anything). I wish I were better at baking and decorating, in medical transcription, programming and networking. Hmmm, I'd like to master all of these but I just need more time to study all of these.

M$I have a black thumb. Plants need water, and I just suck at remembering to water them. I can have dogs and cats, because they tell me when they need food and water. Plants just quieting dry up and die, though. It's no accident that we live in the desert now. We have a lovely cactus garden that is very forgiving when I forget to water it. Most of the rest of our yard is just dirt and trees. The trees are huge and so they water themselves from the water table (or from the septic tank, I suspect).

M$Writing is something I really enjoy, either writing fiction or articles. But it takes soo long for me to just produce an article, let alone a fictional story. writing doesn't come easy for me. It is hard for me to describe something that is going on in my head, to find proper words, to make the story flows better.
Another problem I have is that English is not my first language, so I am not too good with grammar, word usage, slang words, and stuff. I am also not good at all at editing. So even if I finish a story, the editing cost can be higher than the money I might receive from the payment I receive IF I get published.

Yup, writing about what you know helps. But if you choose to write on a topic that you just want to learn about then do the research, write the article and then find ten more markets for similar articles in which you use the same basic information but target it to that audience. This way, you get to learn something new and get paid over and over for it.
write things about what you know, then you dont even need to do research, as such its Quicker!
I have seen so many cases where people write just for the sake of writing and pick subjects they do not know about. In one case somebody wrote about cute pygmy goats, well they clearly never owned a goat in their life because they said you feed them straw. ANYONE wtih livestock experience knows straw is bedding NOT food!
so.. write about what you KNOW
