What is Scientology?

I am a big fan of Tom Cruise even when he was still starting to make his first movies. I have watched most of his movies like Risky Business, Top Gun, Cocktail back then until his more mature roles in Mission Impossible movies. I often read about his life and what he's been up to. It was often mentioned that he is into Scientology. Is this a kind of religion? What is it about and why is it called Scientology?

L Ron Hubbard once said,” Religion is where the money is. If I were to create a region I could rake in millions” to paraphrase. And so he did just that, An experiment to taken to the max. A complete and total cult focused on depriving an individual of money, time and self. The difference between scientology and other 5000 plus year old religions is they allow you to leave and come back. Scientology, as it has been created does not allow y you to leave.

Scientology originally started as Dinaetics. A way to create positive thinking in yourself and overcome obstacles. Like any religion once the originator is gone, it degrades into madness.. what started out as a new concept when psychotherapy was taking foot hold, slowly became a way to gain money and power over someone. The guilt factor is large by making you think you fail because you haven’t been audited enough and have unresolved problems. So they isolate, indoctrinate, and take over your mind.

People who gravitate to Scientology are searching for something. Something they can’t grasp inside or have faith outside. They are not happy with themselves and auditing is a way to validate that. Its dysfunction helping dysfunction.

But for some it may work well to give a positive attitude and confidence and something to make the person stronger. Just Look at John Travolta. He doesn’t spout out about it, It s his personal belief structure. Where Cruise is a spouter because, in the ideas of psychotherapy, he is uncomfortable with it. He is trying to convince himself and in that vein he destroys many with him.

Scientology is not a true religion, it is a cult. It has no physical evidence. Such as the traditional religions. You have no escape, no ability to think for yourself in general. what is interesting to note is that on mor ethan one ocassion L.R Hubbard was diagnosed as paranoid, schizophrenic, having the messiah complex and dangerous. So the question alos arises that his mental instability and possible disease casued state could be another cause to call scientology a cult.

Scientology is defined as a set of beliefs written by science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard. Scientology describes itself as the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, others, and all of life. One purpose of Scientology, as stated by the Church of Scientology, is to become certain of one's spiritual existence and one's relationship to God, or the "Supreme Being." One belief of Scientology is that a human is an immortal alien spiritual being, termed a thetan, that is trapped on planet Earth in a physical body. Hubbard described these "thetans" in "Space Opera" cosmogony. The thetan has had innumerable past lives and it is accepted in Scientology that lives preceding the thetan's arrival on Earth lived in extraterrestrial cultures. Descriptions of space opera incidents are seen as true events by Scientologists.

Scientologists believe that an individual should discover for himself/herself that Scientology works by personally applying its principles and observing or experiencing desirable results.needed Scientology claims that its practices provide methods by which a person can achieve greater spiritual awareness. Two primary methods of increasing spiritual awareness are referred to in Scientology as "Auditing" and "Training". Within Scientology, progression from level to level is often called The Bridge to Total Freedom. Scientologists progress from "Preclear", to "Clear", and ultimately "Operating Thetan".

Scientologists are taught that a series of events, or incidents, occurred before life on earth. Scientologists also believe that humans have hidden abilities which can be unlocked
