The show Property Virgins on HGTV is about the experience of first-time home buyers viewing and offering on their very first house. The show does capture a wide variety of issues that a first-time home buyer might experience - deciding between size and location, understanding the limits of their price, determining what price to offer, etc. The do a good job mixing it up between houses, condos and other types of buildings and covering the differences in those as well.
Most of the shows take place in and around Toronto and it seems like their are an awful lot of competitive situations (especially given the current housing market elsewhere), but otherwise, I think it is a good show.
