What had become known as the Must see TV programming block on NBC apparently began in 1984. This programming block aired on Thursday nights and was highly successful. Here is are the programs that originally aired on the Must See TV Thursday night line up:
The Cosby Show
Family Ties
Cheers
Night Court
Hill Street Blues
The last documented schedule where this slogan was used in the 2002 –2003 season consisted of the following schedule of shows:
Friends
Scrubs
Will & Grace
Good Morning, Miami
ER
NBC tried to revive this schedule in early 2006 with such shows, as My Name is Earl and The Office. By the end of the year NBC had dropped the slogan Must See TV and decided to go with a new slogan Comedy Night Done Right.
