I visited Moncton, NB around nine years ago in September 11 - 16, 2001. I remember it being a nice town situated among some gorgeous scenery. I stayed with a local family and they took me everywhere around town. The most memorable places were Magnetic Hill (a local attraction) and the Crystal Palace a sort of indoor amusement park. If you prefer more natural scenery I know that you are a short drive away from the Bay of Fundy, which is amazing to see at both high and low tides. Looking at the wikipedia page for Moncton http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moncton_nb the town has a lot more to offer.
Another thing I remember is that everyone there was extremely nice and helpful. My plane had to make an emergency landing in the town along with many other planes, and the entire town opened their homes to us. I hope this is helpful, let me know if you need to know more.
