Microblogging is what Twitter allows people to do. It is putting out on the Web your thoughts, ideas, opinions, recommendations, etc. in a limited number of characters (in the case of Twitter, 140 characters per "tweet"). The idea behind this is that it is less onerous to read entries that are extremely short, making it more likely people will actually consider reading the entire entry as opposed to multi-page ramblings.

Microblogging is mainly used by scientists who look through microscopes all day. They employ the use of a micro-keyboard where they type using two very fine strands of wire while peering into thier microscopes. Internet service providers are intriged by the idea because it allows the transfer of large amounts of data while using very little bandwith.
