How is it determined? What data are needed to compute the BMI? How are the results interpreted?
Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

BMI is determined according to BMI formula. To calculate BMI you must know your weight and height. The results are interpreted relating BMI to weight categories. Determining BMI for children and teenagers one should take into account their age and gender.

BMI stands for Body Mass Index. BMI is a relationship between weight and height that is associated with body fat and health risk. BMI is a person's weight in kilograms (kg) divided by their height in meters (m) squared. BMI results are interpreted in the following way:
Body fat index less than 18.5 = Underweight
Body fat index from 18.5 to 24.9 = Normal
Body fat index from 25.0 to 29.9 = Overweight
Body fat index of 30.0 and Over = Obese
Here is a site where you can find a BMI calculator where you can measure your BMI: http://www.free-online-calculator-use.com/online-bmi-calculator.html
