What is Karphi, the Greek city during the Dark Ages, and who lived there?
My class just talked about this, and my teacher didn't really make it clear.

"Following the destruction of Mycenaean settlements around 1200, much of the population was forced to seek refuge in elevated sites for better protection. One of the most famous of these sites is the refugee town of Karphi...Archaeologists have concluded that Karphi was founded in the late 12th century by about 3500 people of mixed Mycenaean-Minoan origins."

Given Europe's history, I suspect it became part of some empire and the natives dispersed or were killed off. I didn't see anything in the research and my history skills are a little fuzzy nowadays.
