What is K2 incense?
My sister said that a business in her area is on the military blacklist. We wondered why and the website said that it was prohibited because it sold illegal substance. Someone commented lower that it was because of K2 incense. I never heard of it. What is it?

K2 incense is an herbal concoction that has and is being sold as a legal marijuana subsitute.
Some states have banned the sale of it but there are cases in the courts contesting these bannings as unlawful as the manufacterers and retailers of the product make the claim that the product is NOT being sold for human consumption but only as an herbal incense.
I have seen this product and have even sampled it out of curiousty and although it is hyped as giving a 'marijuana type high' I can assure you that hype is all it is.
While the various blends of K2 do create a type of 'high', it isn't a representitive of a marijuana high.
The fact that it is being packaged and sold as an incense allows the manufacterers the use of "proprietary ingredients"

Contrary to rumors, K2 incense is a mixture of botanicals and herbs that are blended with a variety of proprietary ingredients. The base herbal & botanical ingredients for all of the blends include:
Canavalia rosea, Clematis vitalba, Nelumbo nucifera, Pedicularis grandifolia, Heimia salicifolia, Leonurus sibiricus and Ledum palustre.

My personal opinion is that a person should be very leary of these 'proprietary ingredients' as well as the botanicals that they do list.
There have been no long term studies to determine the effects of such botanicals for human consumption in the form of smoking.
My advice is, if you want to experience a marijuana high then obtain some marijuana and enjoy the real deal which has been studied inside out and upside down and a person can judge for themself the health risks from researching the data.
