What is it reasonable to charge for setting up a WordPress site? I have a lot of WP experience, but never know what to charge. Help!

I usually hand-pick a bunch of plugins, customize the site's theme a bit, and tweak it to perfection, but I never know what to charge. Am I charging too low, too high? What would someone expect to pay for this?
Tip for best answer: M$2.05
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I would expect it to be about $20/hour, but that's just me. I think it could be done by a client easily for free, but since most just don't have those skills...

Site 1 offers either a Free option, a Basic for $97 or a Premium for $197.

Site 2 offers $25 upgrades or setups, $200 setup + site integration and $400 setup + site integration + SEO.

Site 3 offers a $299 complete setup.

So basically, anywhere from about Free to $250 could be considered reasonable, depending on how intense you plan on being.
Of course, you can milk even more from small, unsuspecting local business owners who are itching to have a web presence. But that's just unethical.

Freelance Switch has an hourly rate calculator. I would use that to play with some numbers to figure out what your hourly rate is if you were doing this sort of thing full time, 40 hours a week and then go from there. This will give you a good idea of what your time is worth and you can negotiate with your client from there.

If I were you I will not charge anything for setting up a Wordpress blog to my client!

I will go for what after that like finding a good theme and installing the right plugins! and just offer free installation as it can be done by one click from inside any hosting service now!

I would charge them for yearly maintenance of the blog for example!

So, I don't want my client to discover that I am over pricing him, or taking his money for doing nothing, I am sure that people are getting more smarter these days regarding the revolution of social networking ;)

so, plz don't put yourself in this position!

This is my personal opinion.
