I see that you asked this about a month ago, so I’m certain the True Grit was not in the theatres yet. I’m also certain that you were aware of this and were curious as to what they have coming up next… I dug around a little bit and couldn’t find the next project in line for two of the greatest treasure in Hollywood in the Coen Brothers.
Inquiring about these 2 leads me to believe that you saw the great adaptation of True Grit. As you can tell, I didn’t refer to it as a re-make because it is a completely different film than, classic in its own right, John Wayne vehicle. The story is basically the same but the execution, the grittiness (pun-intended) and the fell are all completely different. Written to perfection, and acted amazingly, the Coen Brothers hit this out of the park.
If for some reason, you are not a fully fledged fan of these 2, I would direct you to some of their older films that will truly knock your socks off.
Miller’s Crossing / The Big Lebowski / Barton Fink (My personal favorite)
Once you get thru those, dive into their other films and wait impatiently like the rest of us before their next film comes out.
