You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Gingivitis is a potentially a very serious gum disease which can result in the loss of teeth if left untreated. If you notice any bleeding from your gums when you are cleaning your teeth, it is possible that you have the beginnings of gingivitis.

Fortunately, there is an easy way to treat this condition at home by using peroxide of hydrogen as a mouth wash. Used regularly, this will prevent gum disease and also have the benefit of whitening your teeth. Hydrogen peroxide is H2O2 and contains 1 atom of oxygen more than water which is H2 O.

All you need to do is to take a small amount into your mouth being careful not to swallow it (it's not harmful, but not pleasant) and slosh it around in your mouth for about 5 minutes. Then rinse.

You will find that it becomes very frothy and because of this, it can penetrate between each tooth and around the gum line killing all germs.

"Gingivitis ("inflammation of the gum tissue") is a term used to describe non-destructive periodontal disease.1 The most common form of gingivitis is in response to bacterial biofilms (also called plaque) adherent to tooth surfaces, termed plaque-induced gingivitis, and is the most common form of periodontal disease. In the absence of treatment, gingivitis may progress to periodontitis, which is a destructive form of periodontal disease"
