After his career ended he was a VP for the Royals baseball team. brett also works as a part-time coach, spring training special instructor, batting coach (fill in), and as a minor league instructor. He also runs a baseball equipment company called Brett Bros.
In 1998,Brett and his older brother, Bobby, made an unsuccessful bid to purchase the Kansas City Royals.
