There are many people who like to fish in Detroit; it is a popular thing to do and a major attraction since there are many fishing spots in the area or nearby to Detroit. But, it really depends on the type of fishing (fly-fishing, charter-fishing, and so on) that you like to do while in the city of Michigan. For example, the Detroit Rivers provides plenty of good fishing (as there are more than 29 species of waterfowl and 65 kinds of fish in the rivers); for this reason, fishermen are attracted to head to the Detroit rivers to catch fish.
Fishing in Detroit is year-round. Even during the winter months, people still go and fish; they refer to it as ice fishing (see the image).
Fishing is popular at all the four Great Lakes of Michigan, as well as at the many thousands of inland lakes and hundreds of rivers and streams. But, a notable place to go and fish in Detroit is at “Fisherman’s Marina” and “Lake St. Claire.” Many other lakes are also nearby to fish while in Detroit, such as the place fisherman go to catch the Walleye fish (see the video) on Lake Erie (see what people are saying about fishing for the Walleye at http://forums.fishusa.com/forumid_17/tt.htm).
Note: A simple Google search online retrieves many fishing hotspots in Detroit, MI, and maps them out for people to see where they are located as well.
