What is everyone's favorite board game? Mine is either monopoly or clue

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

My whole family loves to play Deadwood, a board game by Cheapass Games, an award-winning company whose philosophy is you don't need to buy markers and dice with every single game you get, so you get only the essentials for that game. In the case of Deadwood, that means you get the board and the cards and the rules. You can raid your Monopoly game for dice and markers.

Deadwood is a blast! From the Cheapass website's description:

"There are two types of actors in this world. There are those who act because they can, and those who do it because they can do nothing else. You're the third kind: you act in spite of the fact that you can't. The world's worst variety of hack, talentless yet illogically persistent.

Enter Deadwood Studios, a Western-a-Week schlock movie house with no illusions about their role in the business. Budget, Script, Quality, and Originality. Who needs 'em? Deadwooders can make movies day and night. The perfect place to do that thing you call "work."

However your career evolves, Deadwood is quick- playing and hilarious. Where else can you play Man on Fire, Woman in Black Dress, and Falls Off Roof in the same afternoon?"

Better yet, there are expansion sets for Kungfu, Space, Horror, Musicals, and even On Location!

Cheapass has a number of fun games, including my favorite to gift people with: Unexploded Cow. Just so the recipient can say "I got an Unexploded Cow for my birthday!"

I really like Monopoly a lot, but Scrabble's great too. If I get an opponent who's evenly matched with me, the game's insanely exciting - and can take a while to play, because we're trying to both get good scores and block the other person.

However, I recently found an old Trivial Pursuit board game at a thrift shop - the original edition. That's fun too, even though some of the questions are dated.

I'm going to have to agree with you on both of those, and add Sorry! to the mix. Those three games never get tiring. Doesn't matter the iteration I play them in, whether it be the original board game, a certain theme, or a computer/console version. Infact, I just played Monopoly on NES a couple hours Saturday night.
