What is Death Insurance? Is it just the opposite of Life Insurance?

I'm confused about what Death Insurance is. Is it the opposite, or the same thing, as Life Insurance?

People refer to all types of life insurance as "death" insurance due to it being payable upon death.

Standard life insurance policies (provides a financial safety net for your benefactor when you die) are available as term life insurance and whole or universal life policies.

As well as the accidental death insurance that Darcy mentioned, funeral or burial insurance (policy exclusively covering burial costs) are also referred to as death insurance.

If you're talking about "Accidental Death Insurance" it is insurance that is paid out in the event of accidental death. It is different from life insurance because life insurance pays out regardless (with some exceptions) of the cause of death.

Death insurance is different than Accidental Death Insurance. Accidental death insurance is given if the insured dies due to an accident. Life insurance is known as death insurance in some instances, but it is not the same as term life insurance. I hope this helps clarify some things for you.

It is actually accident death insurance. In insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment (also known as AD&D) is a term used to describe a policy that pays benefits to the beneficiary if the cause of death is due to an accident.

Actually there's none. Death insurance is more commonly referred to as life insurance. Choosing a certain type of insurance can be confusing, as there are many different types such as long term care insurance , health insurance, etc.

I'm not sure if you're referring about final expense here which is a policy that takes care of your burial expenses, mortgages you left and other expenses that might be a burden to your family.
