What is CrunchBase useful for?

What are some things that you've used CrunchBase for?

Is it intended to help startups, investors or what?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Crunchbase is collaborative database / wiki where you can find information about companies, people, and investors.

Anyone can edit the information. Currently, all additions and edits to CrunchBase go through an approval process before they are pushed live.

It is a good tool for tech journalists & people who are interested in startups.

I used it to find information about
* Startup funding
* Who invested in websites I like
* To get site statistics like Unique visitors

If you want to know who invested in Mahalo check this page:

CrunchBase is the free database of technology companies, people, and investors that anyone can edit.

Here, you can learn and edit everything about companies like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, MySpace and Tagged, products like Droid and Google Wave, and people like Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs.

Hope this help..
