Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Cortisol is a hormone produced by the adrenal gland. It has many effects on the body when at the wrong levels. As for food it's in it is made by the body from cholesterol so I am not sure but I would think that any food that gives your body cholesterol would give your body the chance to synthesize the hormone.

Cortisol is a corticosteroid hormone produced by the adrenal cortex, a part of the adrenal gland which is found in the upper portion of the kidney. It is also called "stress hormone" for it is responds to stress and anxiety. It helps regulate blood pressure and cardiovascular function. Not enough sleep or food, temperature changes and even anxiety can increase the presence of cholesterol.

There are no foods that can reduce stress or cortisol on their own but maintaining a healthy diet can help reduce stress and regulate cortisol levels. Healthy diet consists food that belong to the go, grow, glow groups. These are grains, fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat and beans.
