What is considered good cholesterol?
What is the right level of cholesterol for both LDL and HDL forms? Is there really good and bad cholesterol levels or is it more a genetic issue?

HDL cholesterol is known as good cholesterol since high levels of HDL offer protection against heart attacks. Low levels of HDL increase the risk of heart disease. HDL tends to carry cholesterol away from the arteries and back to the liver and also removes excess cholesterol from arterial plaque, slowing its buildup. Your HDL should be at 60 mg/dL or higher.
