What is causing the bright orange stain on my shirtcollars?

I'm an old guy (63) and this is a relatively new phenomenon (a year, maybe). My shirt collars are getting an orange stain. A little bit on the t-shirt collar also but nowhere else. My doc says it's not my medications. I have type II diabetes and restless leg syndrome.

The neck itself does not look orange.

Washing and regular bleach don't touch it. Spray on oxiclean plus oxiclean in the wash seem to knock it back a good bit.

The only thing I can match it to is that a year ago I got dentures. Is it a possible result of the Fixodent type tooth glue? I haven't found anything online to relate it to.

== The problem may be too much iron is in your water.

When the (embedded) iron come in contact with your natural body oil(s), the result is the enhancement of the excess iron that is in your clothes.

== The problem could be your sunscreen is causing the problem. Link

== Another problem may be that your (potential of Hydrogen) pH balance is off. The stains start out as yellow and they get darker the more 'off' your pH balance is.

Here are some other symptoms of a pH imbalance:

= Weight gain
=Diabetes
= Bladder issues
= Premature aging
= Brittle, weak bones
= Joint pain
= Chronic fatigue
= Slow elimination
= Lactic acid buildup

Ring around the neck, ring around the neck his shirt is clean but what the heck, he's got ring around the neck :)

Most commonly known as RING AROUND THE COLLAR!

Here's a link from e-how but I remember a commercial that talked about "ring around the collar" and I think it was "wisk"

When I first read the question I thought 'fake tan' but I can't see a 63 year old guy wearing fake tan, but its a thought.....

1. If you do use a make up or new facial cream then it might be reacting with the cotton on the collar.

2. Next thought is new shampoo or hair cream. Again, it might not be the color of the liquid, just how it reacts to the material - if you have changed this year try going back to the old brands

3. Next idea is the clothes hangers. Are they wooden and getting damp, leaving a bit of stain around the collar that spreads when you wear the shirts? I've had marks on the inside of clothes from hangers so maybe check them and see if you need new ones.

4. Last but not least, new washing powder or rinse that again, just reacts badly with the cotton on the shirt. I say cotton but a polyester shirt would react as well, so would a blend like T-shirt material.

Your denture glue? hmm, not sure how it would come in contact with the collar. You see if its actually YOU producing this on your clothes you would have orange marks everywhere on the inside of your clothes, pants etc so its not you but something around you......

If its not medically related its going to be something simple for sure :)

I hope these ideas help you out
