What is "Cathos"?
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I thought it would most likely be Ancient Greek, but I cannot find it in any Ancient Greek dictionary.

Cathos is one of the characters in Les Precieuses Ridicules, a satirical French one-act by Molière, in which Magdelon and Cathos, two young women come to Paris in search of love.

It looks as if it can also be translated as "Kate" in French, as in Le Mariage de la Grosse Cathos (Fat Kate's Wedding) -

It looks like it can also mean "Catholics" in French -

It also seems to mean "Catholic" in Brazilian Portuguese -

It also seems to represent a fictional location in a classic Dungeons & Dragons module; the location of this place is unknown, but presumed to be near the Pearl Islands archipelago, as there are disappearing/reappearing islands here, depending on the maps used.

Does that help?
