What is better to grill outside on- charcoal grill or gas grill?

I think we all remember back when our parents would grill on a charcoal grill hot dogs and hamburgers and how good they were. Nowadays, there are a lot of people that have now switched to gas grills to cook their food outside. Does food taste better on a gas grill or on a charcoal grill?

I actually can't even stomach gas cooked meat from a grill, I can taste the propane. I always cook with charcoal if I'm grilling outside.

I don't really understand why people switch to propane. In my opinion it is more of an inconvenience than charcoal. For a gas grill you have to remember to have a full tank, maintain the tank, refill the tank and be weary of leaks. For a charcoal grill all you have to do is store charcoal or you can even just throw some camp fire embers in there in a pinch. I dunno about everywhere else but here buying a bag of charcoal is not only cheaper but less time consuming than having a propane tank filled.

less trouble to have better tasting food? How is that a hard decision lol

The purest will always tell you charcoal. It is really a taste difference and the convenience of gas. If you are slow cooking meat most will use charcoal but to just cook hamburgers and franks most just use gas. Again there is a different flavor to the types of cooking and what you prefer.
