What is better for travel photography? A Super Wide Angel lens ins the range of 11-16mm or a 35mm lens?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$If you are using a modern digital SLR the f stop range is of little importance. The modern cameras are so light sensitive and have such high speed shutters that the problems old, slow films used to create no longer exist.
If you are still using a film camera, you should replace it for travel. Film is simply not practical for travel.

M$You asked which is better for travel photography. Neither of your listed choices would be good for that purpose.
I would add that the lens mentioned and pictured here (or a similar one from any competitor) is probably the only lens you'll need for travel or home or most shooting purposes - unless you have a specific situation like sports or low light or super wide angle needs. This lens is so versatile and light and it has the VR or vibration reduction which gives you 'hand held' control where you may have used a tripod with a non VR lens. (Source. I am a photographer...) Good luck.
Almost sounds as if you may have the answer to your own question skyvan - in that you are showing a preference for the wider angle lens (11-16), and if so then not sure what you may have been looking for here...
We're all just looking to assist you. The super wide is going to be a very specific look - if that's your goal then that's your lens. The fixed lens, the 35 will be just that, give you one focal length and you work around that. As far as low light - the faster the lens the more expensive it will be - so if you have an unlimited budget then perhaps you are able to afford something as fast as f2.8, most of us are not in that ballpark. Best of luck in your photo travels.
A superwide angle at f/2.8 is not that expensive if you go for an off-brand which is what I'll do no matter what, the reason I chose no best answer is because it was an a or b question and I got c.
I have a d90...I have a 55-200 lens (similiar to the one shown but does not go as wide) and I am having problems with aperture, I like to take pictures in dark place sometimes and have been ghainvg problems with slow shutter speeds with my 18-55 3.5-5.6 with VR, which is why I'm looking to see if an 11-16 or a 35 is better, I don't care about zooms, I asked a specific question with an a and b answer and I got c as a response.

Helpful, but not of best answer quality..I've tipped you $2 MD because it definitely was still helpful.
