Asperger’s disease is also known as Asperger's syndrome or disorder. It is a developmental disorder that usually affects a child's ability to communicate and socialize with others effectively.

Presently, there is no known cause of Asperger’s disorder, but it seems to be linked genetically. This is because it tend to run in some families and when a parent or grandparent has this syndrome, there is a high possibility of one of their children or grandchildren getting it

Doctors and researchers have also noticed that it is linked to structural abnormalities in some of the parts of the brain.

Some of the symptoms of Asperger’s disorder or syndrome includes;

# Difficulty in interacting with other people

# Repetitive or Eccentric behaviors, such as talking monotonously or twisting their fingers.

# Unusual and repetitive rituals or obsession with a particular subject or topics

#Problem with understanding gestures and body language

# Lack of coordination and awkward posture

You cannot die from having Asperger’s disorder, but people with this syndrome may develop other mental problems such as schizophrenia and depression. There is no cure for this disorder but it can be controlled.

My son has been diagnosed with this syndrome, so I will tell you what I know from experience. I have learned that a child with Asperger’s Syndrome can seem normal, until placed in a social situations like interacting at church or school. Sometimes they will have behavior problems in social situations, especially when they are young.

Furthermore, the child would adhere to a routine and may become agitated when the routine has been interrupted or changed. They may enjoy repeatedly watching a movie or a television show and favoring certain toys. A child cannot die from this disease, but it will require medical assistance to manage some of the symptoms that they may display in social settings.

There is a lot of argument about how or why children contract this disease, but many doctors like my son’s believe that it is genetically passed to the child from their parents. This disorder can affect the entire family, so it is vital to get the best medical care for a child with this disease.
