You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The Thesaurus is also known as the Vocabusaur.
Little is known about the Vocabusaur, due to it's unfortunate desire to come up with new and different mating calls. Amorus Vocabusaurs would often check out any interesting sound on the off chance it was an expressive potential mate. This running around frequently lead into run ins with hungry carnivores, thus the unfortunately short lived creature ran headlong into extinction. In honor, or in memory of, this fasinating creature we created, made, or constructed, the Thesaurus as a directory, handbook, or tome of knowlege.

M$So in sum, there really isn't another word for "thesaurus," unless you resort to "book of alternative vocabulary," which isn't exactly a 1:1 word replacement.

Wasn't the Vocabusaur around during the time of the Philosoraptor?
Indeed! and I believe that the Thesaurus is a member of the Apathysaurus family, but I don't care to look it up. ;o)
Ah. :)
Ah! Was this an offbeat question? I didn't see the image - it's not showing up in my browser correctly. Whoops. :)
@bunnyphuphu: I love the philosoraptor!
No it was not an offbeat question, I was just giving an offbeat answer.
You covered the serious answer perfectly (and I voted you up for it) I just needed to chime in with an offbeat answer because the picture attached to the question tickled my funnybone.
