What is a way or the best way to author a technical book for ePUB format? Would want multimedia content and possible interactivity.
I am preparing for a workshop for undergraduates and faculty in science and mathematics. We are going to generate supplemental course material, and I am going to arrange for that material to be published in ePUB format so that it can be used by students who have ebook readers. It would be GREAT if we could have multimedia and interactivity baked in.
For what it's worth, were we authoring for paper or PDF, we would probably typeset everything using LaTeX because there will be mathematical equations, some diagrams, graphs, etc.

I suggest you take a good look at Desktop Author ebook software, this application " allows you to create 3d page turning ebooks. DNL ebooks are any type of e-publication including e-brochures, e-books, digital photo albums, e-cards, digital diaries, online resumes, quizzes, exams, tests, forms and surveys."

Thanks for the pointer. I notice at the site you reference, the following: "To view the DNL powered e-publications you will require to install the FREE and small in file size DNL Reader." This suggests that the software is not creating eBooks that employ the open standard of ePUB. Am I understanding this correctly?
It's important that whatever we develop use open standards because we want it to be something that can be read on many different platforms without worries of proprietary constraints.
Thanks for the tip!!!
