What is a very recommendable book for an aspiring medical student/doctor?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

General books - there are many specialist books for the different fields but these are good general books to have and highly recommended
Must have Grays Anatomy - a must for anatomy of the Human Body - none as comprehensive as this one.

Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine (Oxford Handbooks) by Murray Longmore - rated 5/5 by Amazon reviewers - able to look things up on the spot, good clinical approach to most medical problems.
Saunders Q&A Review for NCLEX-RN - great for study, comes with a CD, again rated very highly by Amazon buyers
Also, in case you prefer to read online sometimes here is a list of the 50 Best Medical Libraries online - worth bookmarking some of these!
