Trojan horse is a destructive program which can be downloaded from web, sometimes from email attachments. It does not replicate itself. There are different types of Trojan Horse like “backdoor”, “RATs” and “Key logging Trojans”
Virus and Trojan horse both are malicious programs and both are harmful, but unlike viruses Trojan cannot replicate. It execute as a separate program like “keylogger”. Viruses are nothing but a computer program, but Trojan carries that type of viruses with itself.
People make Trojan Horse to gain remote access of other computers in a network or collect user’s information, like “Keylogging Trojan”, it capture user’s keystrokes and send to the attackers. Some of these Keyloggers targets some certain websites and tag all keystrokes involved with that particular session, so that attacker can do anything on our system, i.e. steal, destroy the data etc.
