What is a reputable site from which to buy the Herman Miller Embody chair (new)? The retailer must ship to Melbourne, Australia at fair cost

What is a reputable site from which to buy the Herman Miller Embody chair (new)? The retailer must ship to Melbourne, Australia for reasonable cost and must offer configurable options on the chair (fabric, finish, casters etc). I'm looking to buy 2 chairs so any discount for buying two would be great!

(I have looked locally and received quotes of AUD 2,500 per chair for the most basic model and a 14 week delay - I'm looking for sharper pricing and a much more reasonable delivery period than this).
Tip for best answer: M$3.00

I would recommend Smart Furniture. I have bought from them in the past and they are definitely a reputable company. They have an amazing website and a low price guarantee.

They charge to much for overseas shipping. Keep looking.

Smart Furniture followed up my query and said that they can work with me to ship to Melbourne. Great service.

Thanks - Smart Furniture was looking good for price, shipping to Melbourne etc, until I saw this in their FAQ: "Please note that we cannot sell Herman MillerĀ® products outside of the United States."

Gutted!

There are a lot of students traveling from the U.S. to Australia right now.

Have you considered posting something like this on Craigslist and travel forums?

"Can you help me? I need you to deliver a Chair from the U.S. to Australia

I live in Australia and I would like to buy a very specific type of desk chair. The chair comes dissembled in a box, weighs xxx lbs and measures xx by xx. It can be easily shipped at no charge by major airlines as checked luggage.

I will buy the chair and have it shipped to your home.

When you come to Australia, you will check the packed chair as luggage.

I will pick you up at the airport.

What you get for helping me out:
1) $100 cash for your trouble and safe delivery.
2) A pickup from the airport - I'll drop you off just about anywhere you want to go.
3) You can ship luggage / whatever to me before your trip. This is a trick of seasoned travelers - ship important luggage (ie: your backpack) to save hassle and worry in the airport."

This deal will be pretty attractive for any sort of student, backpacker, or frequent traveler. You will have the advantage of U.S. pricing and only a $100 shipping charge. This could make a lot of financial sense and you'll also be helping someone out (with the ride and luggage pre-ship)... good karma never hurt anyone :)

You can buy it in the Living Edge furniture store. They also have a branch in Melbourne, so they can ship the chair to Melbourne at virtually no cost. You can refer to the brochure on the site in order to see the available configuration options.

You can see the product page here:

New dealers up here charge list price and ship free only locally. But some dealers will ship across the ocean for less than Smart Furniture. So send your emails out and be sure.

I just edited my question to say that I have looked locally - sorry should have mentioned that to begin with. I got a quote from Living Edge starting at AUD 2,500 for the most basic model. I'd like to see if I can find a better price. Thanks.

Have you tried eBay?

Yes - I tried eBay a couple of times but no sellers would ship to Australia.
