What is a megapixel mean for my phone camera?

Why are more megapixels important? Do more megapixels really mean better pictures?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00

A megapixel means one million pixels, and it tells only about resolution capability. Lense characteristics are much more important for a picture's quality.

In a digital camera, pixels or picture elements are like tiny dots such that when put in order, form a text or an image in a camera or on a computer screen. A pixel might bear any single color, like - all red or all black, whereas each pixel can have a different color, and when a million such pixels are put together they form a megapixel.

It is always good to have more megapixel but more megapixel does not always mean better image quality. It depends on your viewing mode. You need different megapixels if you want to take out a 6x4 print or a 10x8 print or to view it on a computer screen. For a camera phone, if you are getting a satisfactory image quality, you need not to go for an upgrade. Again, it is your need that defines the more or less of megapixels in your camera.

It doesn't mean anything. Check out the lense origin to find a good camera phone, megapixels only matter if you are going to blow up the picture 20x it's original size, of which an 8 megapixel camera should be fine anyway.
