What is a good number for page views and unique visitors a day or month of for a new website?
For a sports News/Blog type website.
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It really depends on the niche. Even for SPORTS blog, it matters whether it is a blog that covers all sports, or a specific sport, or just Superbowl?
One tenth of the search volume of your targetted keywords ( https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal ) would be a good start.
If you want to make some money off it, then you should try to get 2 to 5K uniques. From thereon, the more the better.
Pageviews is just a factor of how good your articles are.
You can use related posts plugin to increase some page views.
Also have about 10 really interesting articles with catchy names and feature them as popular links..
Also showing only post excerpts will increase page views.
All the best!!!

I think he meant per day, not per month I'm afraid. My little Shakespeare blog does 5k uniques a month, and that's without advertising, on a relatively obscure topic. If you're putting any kind of money into advertising, SEO or content development, you want to aim higher.
Yes, I meant 2K to 5K per day. That will give you enough motivation to work even further.
Some more tips:

Submit to all directories.
Submit to paid Yahoo!yahoo directories.
Write even more blog posts.. (for a sports blog 2-5 posts a day?)
and shhhhh!!!! buy some one way links..
So 2-5k uniques per month is a good goal. I am on pace for that. I am confident i can get visitors and page views, but I want to know where I am at
