What is a good calendar/scheduling application that functions on the iPad, iPhone, and PC?

I am looking for a calendar/scheduling app that multiple family users can use to add events to a single calendar. This application must not only work on the iPad (to be mounted in our kitchen) and iPhone (my smartphone), but also on desktop PC's in the house or at work. Although I generally try to get free apps, I am willing to pay for a great scheduling/calendar app. Suggestions? Please share your personal experience if possible.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

There are two great options that meet the criteria you describe.

The first is a paid option, MobileMe. MobileMe, created by Apple, is a multi-faceted application that allows you to share your calendars, contacts, and bookmarks on any iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, and Mac or PC that you would like. In addition, there is a great website that has the calendars and contacts you'd like to share. There are some other excellent features of MobileMe (including email, the ability to locate a missing iPad or iPhone, and 20GB of online storage), and the price is $99 per year of membership.

The second option is free, and it's Google. Google has online calendaring, that can sync with your iPad and iPhone. Since the calendar can be viewed and edited through a web browser on any desktop PC, it is accessible to anyone, so everyone can stay in sync.

I am a Mac fan, and use MobileMe for a lot of things. If you're not a Mac owner, some of the features (such as website hosting using iWeb) won't be available to you, but you might find the online storage and Find My iPhone features worth it. If not, Google is a great solution that won't cost you anything.

Can more than one user update a single calendar using Mobile Me? I want to create one family calendar that my husband and I can both update from separate computers/accounts.

Yes, more than one person can update the calendar. If you and your husband share the MobileMe account, then any updates you make to the calendar will be pushed to any devices that also have that same MobileMe account logged in.

MobileMe keeps your mail, contacts, and calendar information in the cloud and uses push technology to keep everything in sync across your iPhone, iPad, Mac, PC, and the web automatically. So no matter where you go or which device you use, all your information is up to date — no docking required. This is not free but goes for $90 a year which is not much for what it allows you to do. http://www.apple.com/mobileme/features/
