Hello mmng23,

Galbi is a Korean dish and it is usually made with beef short ribs. However, it is also made with pork short ribs and chicken. It is also known as “Kalbi”. In cases where this dish is made from beef short ribs the cut is tender and has more meat while pork short ribs have less. This cut of meat is taken from belly and breastbone area of cattle and pigs.
In Korea the beef or pork is cut lengthwise across the rib bones.

If you want a recipe for a beef Galbi check this link http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/kalbi-korean-barbequed-beef-short-ribs-recipe/index.html the ingredients for the marinade are also given here. According to this link the ingredients for the marinade include brown sugar, soy sauce, rice wine, Asian pear, garlic, sesame oil and black pepper.
For more information on how to make a marinade for a Galbi check this link http://koreanfood.about.com/od/saucesandmarinades/r/Galbimarinade.htm which has details for one which can be used when this dish is made with pork and beef. The exact ingredients used for the marinade here are given below:
