The Ford Shelby Mustang is a high-performance version of the Ford Mustang. This version is built by the Shelby American between 1965 to 1970. The first Shelby Mustangs were the GT350 with a 4.7L engine. These cars were initially mistaken to be Ford Cobras, though both models are totally distinct.
The Ford Super Snake is basically a variant of the Ford Cobra. It was built in 1965, which was converted into a special model, the 427 “Cobra to end all Cobras”. The first was the CSX2015 and was initially intended to be part of a European tour.
The main difference between a Shelby Mustang and a Ford Super Snake (even though they are made by the same company), is that the Shelby Mustang is made to be used on the roads as a sports car. The Ford Super Snake, on the other hand, was fully intended for competition racing only. You can still purchase a 2011 Shelby Mustang from Ford.
