A dog or Canis lupus familiaris is a descendant of the gray wolf, they are a mans best friend and are there to guard and protect the human race. The dog provides a friendly presence and helps people feel better when they need a friend. They can be domesticated unlike the wolf itself and thus why they make a good pet for the house and to have around, a wolf is wild by nature and can never be truly domesticated. The dog itself has the option to be domesticated because it has been bred with other things to make it more docile to humans.
