"The War on Terror" was the common term for which the George W. Bush administration presented as the military, political and ideological conflicts versus Islamic terrorism, militants including the regimes and organizations connected and who supported them. It was specifically used in reference of the operations by US, UK and its allies after the September 11, 2001 attacks in the US.
