What is a coming of age film ?
I have been writing reviews of coming of age films from quite a while now , and am familiar with the general definitions. I asked this question because I would like to receive a personal answer instead of quotation from some of the resources that feature a defenition of the genre.

A coming of age film usually tells the tale of a young person living life and dealing with various common events. The most common themes in these films is sex, love, and death.
A good example is the movie "Stand By Me".
The movie will usually culminate in a loss of innocence in some way and the passage of a child into adulthood, pre-teen into teen, stuff like that.
