M$This is a free and easy option.
If you don't have a spare computer around, any old piece of junk from a garage sale or used computer store will work really well.
Here are the basic steps:
1)
Download CD image from web site http://www.freenas.org/
2)
Burn CD image to CD
3)
Insert in computer and reboot
4)
Plug in the USB drive
5)
Open up my network on you PC's and browse around until you find the drive
Thats it. No hard configuration, etc. Best of all, this is free.
