Realize that so many things matter in determining a price. Who is the manufacturer of this upright, what is the condition, are you looking to just unload it cheap or do you want the most money possible for it, can you find a buyer, is it a collectible or just a player? So many things to take into consideration. Often a good indication to what the market is, is to monitor auction sites such as ebay to see what similar items are selling for or if they are selling at all. On a recent search of completed sales only one traditional standup sold for over $1000. A vast majority of the auctions ended without any bids. And you have to take the economy into consideration; what people were willing to pay for things two years ago they just are not buying now. I would hold onto it, or donate it to a school that doesn't have much of a music fund. Unless it's truly some treasure in which case you should have it appraised by a professional luthier.
