What instant messenger program do you guys recommend for handling multiple accounts?
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The paid version of Trillian (Trillian Pro - $25) is probably the best multi-account IM client there is. If you don't want to pay, Pidgin is a good option as is supports basically all protocols and has a nice set of features, including extensibility through plugins. The main drawback with Pidgin is the lack of voice and video chat. If you are on OS X, try Pidgin's close relative, Adium.
Meebo is also worth considering. Nothing to install with Meebo as it runs in the browser, but like Trillian and Pidgin, it consolidates your multiple account contacts and has features that are comparable to the better desktop clients.
My recommendation:
http://www.digsby.com
Supports the major IM protocols, Facebook chat, Twitter and LinkedIn client... etc. And is also an email client. Definitely check it out. It's free.
