What industrial robots does Italy export? Are Italian robots more advanced than Japanese robots? What can Italian robots do?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.
M$1 Answer
1.Italy exports
* Articulated robots
* Cylindrical robots
* Linear robots (including cartesian and gantry robots)
* Parallel robots
* SCARA robots
According to asahi.com
------ Many of the robots used overseas are also made in Japan. Of about 113,000 units shipped globally in 2008, about 80,000 were made in Japan. --------
2.There is no such standard to compare which country produces more sophisticated or advanced robots .
however one can say japanese robots are usually more advanced . as majority of research on robots are done in japan . and it holds more patents on robots components than italy .
3.Italian robots can weld, paint, assemble, pick and place, package and palletize, inspect the procuct, and test, all accomplished with high endurance, speed, and precision.

Haha ... flattered . Nope im no robotic scientist . I'm an engineering (electronics) graduate from one of the indian premier schools NIT TRICHY , preparing for IAS and IPS . as this examination demands wide range of knowledge , I really enjoy searching and surfing any interesting topic that adds to my knowledge ..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUPyh9oaWTEAs far as youtube videos on italian robots . there are really very few .there might be some illustrative videos on italian industrial robots .As market is very down for personal and recreational robots , you might not find videos on them.
Currently industry is booming in asian countries like india, china ,south korea . its really on decline in united states and stagnated in european countries .
im posting two videos here and giving some leading italian robot manufactures .
ACMI , SIR , Comau , Sytrama
add words like robots research italy expo for better results .
and THANKS for 5 stars . :)

What are the top five US companies investing in India?
Is silicon valley building energy production in India, solar power?
How do rate your India engineering degree with a US engineering degrees?
1. It depends on which level . in this context (research level) no US company got enough output from indian institutions . For eg .. Motorola invested in our college ( nit trichy ) by establishing a laboratory on DSPs and micro controller . I dont think it gave them any fruitful results from here . being an electronics student , i never visited that laboratory . there are few who dont even know that there exists a lab like that !!!... i dont remember any one of us doing some work there . I dont know what research is done there . few years back i heard motorola closed all their operations in india .
I dont know top 5 companies investing in india . In pharmaceutical majority of testing is done here in india ( as US poses ethical problems regarding pharmaceuticals testing) , many IT companies invest in india building BPOs . forget about aviation , auto mobiles , fabrication , construction industries where research plays key role .
Yep . solar energy became a buzz word in indian industry , there are several reasons for it .
India desperately wanna please global citizens by portraying themselves clean and green especially after COP15 . It doesn't mean india is keenly interested in developing alternative energies.
After COP15 Indian government started "solar mission" investing Rs 4337 crores for 2010. As far as solar energy is concerned much of its technology is already developed(saturated) . and many of its patents are in the hands of developed countries like US , japan and germany . Much of its investment goes in to the pockets of MNCs . And all these MNCs can further invest this money in their research and can sell their products to INDIA . ( they see india as prime consumer of energy )
If india invested 10th part of its solar mission on research and development of solar energy few years back , it might have given more fruitful and sustainable results .

@ davepamn your questions are much deeper than you think . as i cant give up with out giving whole picture , its taking too much time which i cant afford right now . ( as i am preparing for UPSC 2010 and exam is on may 23 ) . i wish i could spend a whole week after this examination to answer all unanswered davepamn questions one by one . :)
Do you think us engineering projects are more interesting because us companies are involved in the program. Us companies provide resources that India companies can not
What are the Italian brand names of robots that I can search on Youtube?
thanks
No . that is wrong . Companies only invests where they get output in a limited time frame . there is no indian or US companies in this globalized world , every company has equal chance of investing money in any country (except a few projects which can threaten their national security ) . Companies are not investing in india only because they dont think they can get better results here . Nothing more than that .
US engineering Degree = 8/10
Indian engg degree = 3/10
Are US companies getting output from India?
