What if there was a world with no money?
It's a tool we use to get things we want. Things that are scarce. Money = Scarcity. The more rare the item, the more we have to pay.
What if we took that concept and went even further. What if the worlds resources were shared equally between every person, no matter what race, age, sexuality etc.
I mean, it seems like in this day and age, money is the cause of most problems.
I know this is a little serious for a gaming website, but I'd like to think the members here are quite mature.

The way I see things, and if resources are divided equally, the currencies will be those resources. For example:
Each nation has: lumber, coal and grain. If my nation runs out of coal I’ll trade my grain for that.
Since this question is on a gaming website, I’ll give you an example from a video game: Age of Empires is the first one that came to my mind when I saw your question. Even if there, players can gather gold, there are some missions where the marketplace is the only way to get what you want. And then you have to sell a resource you have in excess to buy what you need. Example: sell food to buy lumber.
That’s what I think will happen if our world will have no money. Even if the resources are divided equally, you can’t control how fast they are consumed by each nation or person. Sooner or later, one of them will run low on a resource.

M$Some people would consider this during these tough economic times. It is often called swap markets and it was common during the depression. However, a considerable amount of people are not comfortable when things are being shared equally. That system is often called socialism and the mere mention of that term causes extreme anger.

M$OK, so we all want a copy of APB. The manufacturers can only make so many at once. While we are all equal as consumers now, we are not equal in patience. How do we decide who gets a copy from the first batch? We are all equal, so is it first come, first served?
Even with money, people have stampeded through a store, crushing others to the point of death. When I was in high school, we had a similar situation, where we were asked to create a different society. My society involved all trade, no money, but without money, it was just some other symbol of work accomplished that got you the resources you desired.
