M$Another home remedy is use laundry bleach. Use a clean cotton ball or Qtip to apply a couple of times daily.. ( however I feel hesitant about using bleach on an open wound).
But since ringworm is a fungal infection I would suggest you purchase an ANTI-FUNGAL cream from your local pharmacy (or WALMART/ TARGET). Some anitfungal creams/ lotions to try are: Lotrimin, Lamisil, Tinactin and there are some generic brands also. You will need to use the anti-fungal creams/lotions as directed on the package to ensure that the ringworm does not return.
Wash your linens and towels daily in the hottest water setting. Also wash your clothing as soon as you remove it so as to not infect your other items.
Avoid scratching the area. Benadryl is a good antihistamine and may help calm the itch; it does not require a prescription.
