What home paternity tests are available on the internet?

I'm trying to encourage someone I know to take a paternity test. The truth sometimes really hurts, but I think it's better to know the truth at all cost. I heard that about one out of ten fathers is falsely believed to be the father of a child!

Home paternity DNA tests are now sold on the internet. They send you the testing kit, then you swab your saliva, send it back to them, and get your results online.

What things do you have to consider in choosing the right paternity test? DNA is sensitive information, how can you feel safe about your privacy? Are paternity tests legally recognized? What else?

What are the best options on the internet according to features and reviews?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

These are some home paternity test that are available online:

1. Genesys
---quote--
2x Testing, Every Time!

Genesys does something no other laboratory does. We test two DNA samples per person instead of one. We do this to compare the two samples, independently, so you know you're getting 100% accurate results.

Why do other labs skip this important step? They can't afford to run each test twice. However, our laboratory handles more paternity DNA tests than any other lab in the nation, so our sheer volume allows us to offer affordable testing without sacrificing accuracy...

2. Identigene
---quote---
Fast. Accurate. Accredited DNA Tests IDENTIGENE/Sorenson Genomics holds and maintains accreditations for DNA Tests and Relationship Analysis. Our laboratory undergoes regular evaluations by independent auditors to ensure that your relationship test results comply with accepted standards and practices. We provide the most reliable results commercially available for other DNA tests, including DNA tests for grandparents, siblings, aunts or uncles.

These are the things to consider when choosing a paternity test:
1. The lab should be accredited with AABB Parentage Testing Committee
2. Customer service representative were able to answer all your questions and make you feel comfortable with every step of the testing procedure.
3. The paternity testing lab adhere to any other quality assurance
4. Lab offer the payment and testing options that you need.
5.The lab should have a history of high legal acceptance
6. Try to inquire how many genetic markers are examined and what testing quality assurance measures do they have in place.

I suggest you try "do-it-yourself DNA paternity tests sold as Identigene by Sorenson Genomics of Salt Lake City." This kit was initially sold in drug stores for $29.99. The kit is bundled with swabs that are used in getting DNA samples within the cheeks of the child and suspicious father. In order to reinforce the DNA results it is advised that sample cells can also be gathered from the mother.

"But people who’ve used the at-home tests swear by the ease, the accuracy — and the results. "

As far as the legal aspect is concerned, the judicial system especially the jury has not been updated on this home paternity tests.

“The bottom line is, I don’t have to live with the uncertainty about her being my daughter and wind up in a fight just to find out,” Turley said. “This won’t change how I feel about the girl. It will just remove what had become a major concern.”

According to geneticdnatestinghelp.org, "the first thing you should look for when choosing a paternity test is whether the test is accredited by the AABB (American Association of Blood Banks) and is ISO accredited. These two institutions help to ensure that you are getting proper service and results from your DNA testing laboratory."
