What happens if I fail the law bar exam?

Can I take the bar exam over if I fail? What sites offer help with law and legal careers?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

If you fail the bar exam then you can retake the test in a few months. Depending on how badly you failed and why you failed, you’ll want to alter your study habits to account for your shortcomings. Remember to keep good test-taking behavior in mind when preparing for the bar. You’ll want to continue studying, reviewing what you’ve already covered, and practicing the exam format. Try to spread studying out over the next few months, rather than taking time off and trying to cram at the end right before your retake date. The bar exam is given by state, so you’re state may operate differently than another state. Remember, if you move to a new state where you want to continue practicing law, you’ll be required to retake the bar exam in your new location. While failing can be embarrassing and discouraging, try to see it in perspective; even very intelligent people fail the bar and lots of people fail every year. Do the best you can and try again.

If you’re looking for resources, the state you live in will have resources that are specific for you. For general study tips and some humor about taking the bar exam and law in general, check out this blog http://amicus--curiae.livejournal.com/228534.html .
