What happens if a user's answers are consistently rated 'not helpful'? Are they eventually banned / blocked?

A respondent to another of my questions has just pasted in a load of irrelevant links from a Google search. I note he's also done this on several other questions too... Will he eventually be blocked?

It's not spam (it's not commercial) but it is just noise...

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Good question. I'm a Mahalo employee and you're right that we want only thoughtful and helpful answers on our service. We've banned several profiles so far, but primarily for spam links or overly offensive content.

We will, however, ban someone if their answers are consistently rated as unhelpful and multiple other users report this user as inappropriate or abusing the system. You can send me this user's profile specifically by using feedback@mahalo.com as mjeezy suggests, or you can e-mail me personally at jonathan@mahalo.com and I'll check it out.

Thanks for your question!

No, mahalo can't ban you unless your answers are innapropriate...contact feedback@mahalo.com to tell them about this in more detail.

Good to know. I wondered about that myself.
