yes, the main things to avaid are citrus fruits, spices, alcohol and caffeine. other things may as the last poster stated trigger it but its different for everyone. one thing that will help it is carrotts juice assuming its a mild case of acid reflux. a number of medication can help and the good thing about acid reflux medicines is that they carry virtually no side effects. popular and effective ones include aciphex, pepcid and zantac

There are certain foods you have to avoid when you have been diagnosed with acid reflux. Avoiding these foods help you feel better and lessen the damage to your esophagus. It was usually believed that spicy foods were the primary problem but they may not be causing your episodes at all.

Fruits: Among the fruits oranges, lemons, lemonade, grapefruits, tomatoes and tomato products and cranberry juice have to be avoided.

Vegetables: You should avoid the mashed potatoes, french fries or raw onions.
Meats: Avoid ground chuck beef, marbled sirloin, chicken nuggets and Buffalo wings.

Dairy Products and Grains:
Sour cream, ice cream, macaroni, cottage cheese, milk.

Beverages, Desserts and Fast Food:
Coffee, tea and all kinds of alcohol have to be avoided. You also have to avoid chocolate and chocolate supplements, along with all kinds of fast food.
