What food did you crave when you were pregnant? (If you are a guy, what did your wife crave)

It is super crazy some of the things women crave when they are pregnant. One of my neighbors is pregnant and she recently paid full price to eat at Country Buffet JUST for the chocolate bread pudding! Her other favorite craving is garlic salad dressing!

With all my pregnancies I ate an unreasonable amount of queso cheese dip around my 28th week. I didn’t have many other cravings. I had more food aversions. All the things that I normally loved made me sick. With one of my daughters it was pizza. It was also the first thing I wanted after my daughter was born. I finished almost an entire pizza by myself. With my youngest son the food aversion was barbequed hamburgers and I love to grill hamburgers. It was just something about that cooking hamburger smell that turned my stomach. I didn’t mind other meats grilling so; I ate quite a bit of chicken and fish while I was pregnant with him. And you know he eats mostly chicken and is not fond of hamburger? Hmmmm kind of odd, huh?

It wasn’t really a craving as much as it was all I could eat.
I didn’t know I was pregnant for 5 months and in the end of the 5th month I could not eat anything except for spaghetti and pepperocini.
Every night a plate of spaghetti and 10 pepperocini dipped in olive oil and vinegar.. all for the next four months.
What is interesting is that we noticed the foods that we craved or were only able to eat our children love that food.
My daughter loves spaghetti and banana peppers and pepperocinis.
My friends daughter loves Blueberry ice cream and Pickled cauliflower, another loves sweet and sour beets and sourdough bread.
Its funny to listen to what these kids like and how we get nauseated by them!

I craved comfort food, like fresh fried doughnuts, especially with the red jelly (not something I ate at any other time in my life.) And spicy foods in addition to Vietnamese summer rolls, this is not a fried food - it a rice paper wrapper around fresh greens and tofu you dip in peanut sauce - I was eating two a day

When I was expecting my son, I had just discovered the CreamSlushes at Sonic. I constantly wanted a Blue Coconut Creamslush. It was very frosty and tasty. Of course, I am sure it was loaded with calories and who knows what else.

I did crave KFC for one night, then got the worst morning sickness that night afterward. I didn't eat at KFC for at least 2 years after that.

My carvings wasn't that big and I didn't carve odd foods during my pregnancy. Something I found interesting is the fact that my mother likes mustard. However, when she was pregnant with me, she had an aversion to it. To this date, mustard makes me gag! Even just the smell of it. I wonder if that happens often.

For all three it was raviolis and choclate for dessert. Nothing like getting up at 3AM to boil raviolis for her. And it had to be a mix of cheese and meat raviolis.

I didn't actually get very bad cravings. To my understanding cravings are a result of a vitamin or mineral deficiency for example craving onion may mean one is low on iron.

During my fist pregnancy I craved red meat, peaches and milkshakes. Peaches was likely my biggest one. I could not walk by the fruit section without buying a peach and I could smell them like outside the store. The smell was just intoxicating to me and I don't even like peaches normally.

With my second pregnancy there was red meat again, apples, cherries, and chocolate.
Fruit seems to be a big one with me all around. It's like my nose becomes more sensitive to the "ripe" scent fruit gives off when I'm pregnant. I didn't crave any pre-prepared foods.

Fun question.

I craved a few things, more when I was pregnant with my first child. Sadly, none of what I craved was very healthy, alas.

I craved chocolate shakes from some of the more well known fast food establishments in the world, you know who I'm, talking about. My husband was also very kind and brought me home ice cream sundaes late at night because I almost inevitably craved one or two each week.

I also enjoyed eating ham or tuna salad - the mayonnaise was the part that I craved I think. I tried not to each much tuna though as it's not supposed to be too safe for expecting women. I also had a few cravings for peanuts. Go figure.

That's about it. Lots of fun responses on this question, thanks for asking it.
